LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Accurately collects, organizes, analyzes and interprets periodontal data
2) Interpret radiographs for diagnosis of periodontal diseases and implants
3) Creates a diagnosis and prognosis for periodontal diseases
4) Creates a comprehensive treatment plan
5) Understand and discuss the rationale for indicated treatments
6) Critically evaluate the treatment results.
7) Effectively conveys current periodontal health status and treatment needs to patients
8) CombinescurrentapproachesrelatedtootherdentistrybrancheswithPeriodontologypractices
9) Organizes, develops, implements and evaluates periodontal disease control programs for patients
10) Organizes, develops, implements, evaluates and provides supportive periodontal care program for patients
11) Organizes, develops and implements infection control program for dental practice
12) Knows the indications of surgical periodontal treatments.

2nd Week DEVELOPMENT, HISTOLOGY AND REGENERATION OF PERIODONTIUM,PHYSIOLOGY OF PERIODONTAL TISSUES, DEFENSE MECHANISMS OF THE GINGIVA, PATHOGENESIS OF PERIODONTAL DISEASES, CLINICAL APPEARANCE OF GINGIVITIS, CLINICAL RISK ASSESSMENT, CLASSIFICATION OF PERIODONTAL DISEASES
