LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Knows the etiological factors of orthodontic anomalies. Gains knowledge about the treatments applied in the early treatment of anomalies due to bad habits.
2) Knows the effect of respiratory dysfunctions on orthodontic malocclusions, knows the etiology, classification and treatment methods of syndromes such as cleft lip and palate
3) Have knowledge about preventive and early period orthodontic treatments.
4) Knows the histology of tooth movements, properties of applied force and anchoring methods.
5) Have theoretical knowledge about functional appliances, maxillary expansion appliances, extraoral appliances, removable orthodontic appliances.
6) Have theoretical knowledge about the treatment principles of different types of malocclusions in vertical, sagittal and transversal directions.
7) Gain theoretical knowledge about the materials and treatments used in fixed orthodontic treatments.
8) Gain theoretical knowledge about adult orthodontics, interdisciplinary treatments such as orthognathic surgery, complications of orthodontic treatment and orthodontic retention treatment.
