LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Learns patient examination and diagnosis before before treatment
2) Gains knowledge about the principles of tooth preparation.
3) Learns fixed prosthesis impression materials and techniques.
4) Gains knowledge about different fixed prosthetic restorations and their indications.
5) Learns the post-core application steps.
6) Makes removable partial prosthesis case classification.
7) Has an idea about the planning and stages of removable partial prosthesis
8) Distinguishes the measurement methods in removable partial dentures.

COURSE DEFINITIONTo teach various prosthetic restorations methods. Provide theorical knowledge and increase the descision capabilities of students for prosthetic restorative methods.

1st Week Introduction to fixed prosthodontics- examination and diagnosis- preprosthetic preparations
2nd Week Principles of anterior tooth preparations
3rd Week Principles of posterior tooth preparations
4th Week Indications and contraindications of fixed prosthodontics and evaluation of abutment teeth
5th Week Biomechanical considerations for fixed prosthodontics
6th Week Functional occlusal morphology
7th Week Impression- fluid control and retraction methods for fixed prosthdontics
8th Week Provisional restorations and fabrication techniques
9th Week Principles of metal infrastructure design- pontic design and connectors
10th Week Investing- casting- soldering
11th Week Shade and shade selection methods
12th Week Laminate veneer restorations
13th Week Inlay and onlay restorations
14th Week Cantilever and resin-bonded fixed prosthodontics
15th Week Form and esthetic in fixed prosthodontics
16th Week Mounting the casts on the articulator by using facebow transfer
17th Week Prosthetic rehabilitation of extensively damaged teeth and pin-retained restorations
18th Week Partial Crowns
19th Week Restoration of endodontically treated teeth
20th Week Root canal preparation- impression
21th Week Post-core restorations (Prefabricated and cast) and cementation
22th Week Prosthetic rehabilitation of periodontically treated teeth
23th Week Evaluation of diagnostic casts ? clinical and radiological examination ? preparation of the mouth in removable partial dentures
24th Week Anatomic and functional impression techniques for removable partial dentures
25th Week Diagnostic cast analysis ? surveying- blockout in removable partial dentures
26th Week Components of removable partial dentures
27th Week Occlusion- recording occlusal relationships and planning of removable partial dentures
