COURSE DEFINITIONThis course is designed for investors or managers in the emerging markets and attendees who work for the government. Participants are expected to comment on the cases from different perspectives of decision makers (e.g., policy makers, investors and managers). The course is focused on four basic components that trigger development and job opportunities in emerging markets. First, in order to analyze emerging market economies, structure of economic development must be examined. Next, for interindustry investment decisions, companies that should have this macro view will be investigated. Then, managing political risks will be studied by examining firms operating in more than one industries. Finally, public economic enterprises and their intrinsic effects will be covered in both emerging market and global base. The course will be supported with case studies from several countries.
