1) Make awareness in students about the current problematiques of media.
2) Discuss the current issues in media through the advanced concepts of media theories and approaches.
3) Develop her/his point of view to analyse the problematiques of media.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe course aimes to broaden students' discussing the current issues in media through the conceptual frames of media theories, and to examine the current problematiques within the relation of media-society and individuals.
COURSE CONTENTS

1st Week Introduction to discuss the current issues in media.
2nd Week To look at the media industry from the aspect of political economy.
3rd Week To look at the media industry from the aspect of political economy.
4th Week Workforce at media industry.
5th Week Workforce at media industry.
6th Week Union Issue (i.e. TGS).
7th Week Union Issue (i.e. TGS).
8th Week Mid Term Exam
9th Week The clon copying issue at media texts and genres.
10th Week Analyzing and discussing samples from media texts.
11th Week Analyzing and discussing samples from media texts.
12th Week New media and opportunities.
13th Week Alternative Media.
14th Week General Evaluation.
