At the end of this course, the students; 1) Analyze television news programs critically in socioeconomic and sociocultural context. 2) Discuss television news programs in the context of concepts such as collective memory, social construction of emotions, control and ethics. 3) Develop strategies to produce alternative television news programs.

COURSE DEFINITION
This course includes theoretical discussions on news; the relationship between television news and editing; kinds of television news; the economic, social, cultural dimensions of television news programs; television news programs in the context of concepts such as collective memory, social construction of emotions, control and ethics. In this course, theoretical and technical information will be given. In addition, different television news programs will be evaluated according to their content and form.
