LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Have information about the path in which the history of cinema developed.
2) Learn to evaluate the film in its historical-cultural context.
3) Comprehend a film (or movement) by considering its predecessor and successor (the factors that led to the emergence of the film and the effect of the film on the history of cinema).
4) Gain the ability to associate cinema with world history, current of thought and individual life.
5) Acquire the identity of a competent and qualified cinema literate.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe History of World Cinema course is designed for students who want to have extensive experience in cinema and who want to learn film production with its historical and theoretical dimensions. The history of cinema will be examined starting from the Italian Neorealistic tradition. In order to fully master the subject, sample films suitable for each period will be shown and discussed.
