At the end of this course, the students; 1) Will learn and implement the practical applications of the basic concepts and principles of animation and the production process of moving images 2) Will gain knowledge in the production process of works of animation and moving images, implementing these on their own personal projects 3) Will create in various technique and styles solid animations and moving images from abstract ideas

COURSE DEFINITION
This course aims for the students to utilize and thereby reinforce the animation principles they have learned with the usage of more complex models in animation assignments. As such the course aims to teach the students to combine different principles to create more fluid, dynamic and complex animation sequences.
COURSE CONTENTS

TOPICS
1st Week
Introduction; General introduction to the course.
2nd Week
Examples of visual storytelling in feature and short animations, vfx sequences and moving images. Examples found by students will be presented.
3rd Week
Developing stories. Visual reflection of stories. Story beats. 3 out of 2 stories created by the students will be further developed and discussed in-class.
4th Week
Story beats will be discussed. Viability test for the stories. Similar technical styles will be researched.
5th Week
The final drafts of the scripts will be discussed. Senses workshop. Character designs will be initiated through the possible techniques and styles.
6th Week
The technical style experiments will be discussed. Final decision on technique and style. Environment, prop design will begin. necessary environments, props to be created will be marked from the script. Character design sketches will be brought in. Storyboard feedback.
7th Week
Storyboard Animatic feedback. Submition of Final Character Design and Turnaround
8th Week
Mid-term
9th Week
First scene (rough and final). Animatic undated.
10th Week
New scenes (rough and final). Animatic undated.
11th Week
New scenes (rough and final). Animatic undated.
