At the end of this course, the students; 1) Will be introduced to and learn the production process of animation and moving images within media 2) Will learn the basic concepts, principles and applications of the production process of animation and implement them in their own personal projects 3) Will be able to produce animated projects for artistic and commercial, animation, film, game and advertisement, geared towards varying media

COURSE DEFINITION
This course focuses on the teaching of the basic concepts and principles of animation and the production process of moving images as well as the practical implementation of said principles. Allowing the student to gain practical knowledge of the production process of projects of animation and moving images, the aim is for the students to utilize this knowledge in the creation and design of their own original projects.

The nature of motion and the motion-time relationship
3rd Week
What is /Animation? History and types of animation.
4th Week
Explaining the basic approaches and techniques in the creation of moving images. Exercise for the motion picture class: making a thaumatrope
5th Week
Motion graphics, movie credits, and storyboarding.
6th Week
Explaining the stop motion technique, showing and analyzing the stop motion movie sample
7th Week
Designing movie credits with stop motion technique. Creating the film atmosphere (scene, setting, character creation, use of typography). Homework: Prepare the storyboard.
8th Week
Mid-term

Collection of materials, creation of stop motion models.
10th Week
Starting the project.

Continuing projects and giving feedback
