At the end of this course, the students; 1) Gain theoretical and practical knowledge about semiotics theories within the interface of language, sign, meaning and design. 2) Gain the ability to analyze designs with semiotic approaches. 3) Can deeply understand the value of meaning production and the role of analysis in their own design processes and evaluate them with semiotic concepts.

COURSE DEFINITION
The origin of semiotics and its historical evolution, semiotic theory, semiotical analysis are the topics to be studied in order to gain a theoretical background. At he end of the course, students will be able to use semiotical methodology and analysis both in their theoretical and practical applications.
