COURSE DEFINITION
This course covers understanding and interpretation in the process of visual communication, reading symbols, visual perception, reading and precieving visuals according to Gestalt principles.

Meeting, sharing information about the course content.

Communication, types of communication, visual communication.
3rd Week
Semiology of visual communication. Icons, symbols, symbolic signs, logos, emblems and trademarks.
4th Week
Visual communication tools used in design processes and designs (examples and discussion).
5th Week
Visual perception and Gestalt. Perception principles. Individual differences in perception. Cultural and environmental factors affecting perception.
6th Week
Visual identity, packaging design, illustration.
7th Week
Planning of design, communication / media planning.
8th Week
Midterm Exam.
9th Week
Advertising.
10th Week
The active use of images in advertisements.
11th Week
Photograph.
12th Week
Television, visuals designed on television platform.
13th Week
Digital media, computer and visual communication.
14th Week
Social media and using visuals in social media.
