1) Know the general characteristics of documentary.
2) Know all the production steps of documentary film making.
3) Get the abilitiy of using information in practice, project designing and making.

COURSE DEFINITIONAim of this course is to introduce documentary with its all different forms and characteristics as well as making the students experience all the production steps of documentary. The main titles that will be coverd in this course are: documentarist, definition and aim of documentary, documentary types through their production and component properties, subject selection, research, narration forms and script, production schedule, production steps, budget and budgeting.

2nd Week Documentary film maker, ethics in documentary, mission and importance
3rd Week How to find a subject, process of establishment of a project
4th Week Production steps, research
5th Week Project?s subjet to be determined
6th Week Project file; proposition, synopsis, script
7th Week Documentary script, narration forms / Project research report
8th Week Mid-term
9th Week Producing and financing a documentary & Production, shooting check list, crew and public relations
10th Week Interview, preperation, shooting and after the shooting
11th Week Documentary Narration: Camera, camera movements, composition, sound
12th Week Shooting status report / Shooting / Editing / Shooting / Editing
13th Week Pre-screening
14th Week Screening of films.
