LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) defines the Roman law and understand its importance
2) learns the concept of obligation, types of contracts, characteristics of contracts, terminating contracts, "torts" and "responsibility" and prepares for the law of obligations course.
3) learns the basic concepts of Roman Property law and determines differences from contemporary property law.
4) observes the historical development of the law and attains competence in shaping and interpreting the rules for the future

COURSE DEFINITIONDuring the cource, law of obligations, personal law, family law and property law of Roman Private Law and their related institutions will be studied and these subjects will be compared with contemporary law institutions.
