At the end of this course, the students; 1) explain the basic concepts of theater and drama. 2) reveal the differences of the theater genre from other literary genres and analyze theater texts. 3) define the concepts of drama, creative drama and educational drama and perform drama/theatre applications. 4) develop strategies on how to use drama/theatre in Turkish education and create activities by applying creative drama techniques.

COURSE DEFINITION
The development of the traditional theater concept since Aritotle. Basic concepts related to the field of theater. Dramatization and dramatization techniques. Improvisation studies. Determinations about the language of theater. Dramaturgy, interpretation and staging. Introducing the concept of creative drama and its studies. Ways of benefiting from creative drama studies in Turkish education. Dramatization techniques and Turkish teaching. Game concept. Psychological foundations of the game and the game-education relationship.

First Week Introduction to the course, introduction of the syllabus, the birth and development of the concept of theater, basic concepts about theatre.

Second Week Theater, drama, creative drama, staging techniques in terms of education and training.
3rd Week
Third Week Staging techniques, the concept of play; psychological foundations of the game and the game-education relationship, dramatization techniques and Turkish teaching. The place of theater/drama in Turkish education, theatrical texts, formal drama, improvisation.
4th Week
Fourth Week Drama and main techniques in Turkish education, creating drama activities in Turkish education (participatory leadership, side-coaching).
5th Week
Fifth Week Creating and applying drama activities in Turkish education. Drama and main techniques in Turkish education, creating drama activities in Turkish education (drama with visuals, dull image, private propriety).
6th Week
Sixth Week Creating and applying drama activities in Turkish education. Drama and main techniques in Turkish education, creating drama activities in Turkish education (deficient objects, future projection technique, visualization).
7th Week
