COURSE DEFINITION	Basic concepts about language and culture; cultural resources and elements; oral and written culture; material and spiritual culture; culture from individual and social aspects; culture as binder and disintegrant; cultivation, culture, cultural expansion and harmony; culture in terms of cognitive, symbolic, structural-functional approaches; language as a system of symbols; language and language acquisition from an individual perspective; the effect of language on human consciousness; the relationship between culture, language, cognition and reality; the function of language in conveying knowledge and culture, in establishing social relations and communication; development and transmission of language and culture; national identity and language; the dynamics of changes in language and culture; discussions of mutual interaction of culture and changes in the world; national cultures; globalization, multilingualism and multiculturalism.
