At the end of this course, the students; 1) Know the theoretical explanations about human relations and communication 2) Evaluate concepts and processes related to human relations and communication on the basis of individual-developmental life characteristics. 3) Evaluate communication processes within different developmental processes and social roles. 4) Willing to recognize and develop in interpersonal relations processes 5) Explain relations between interpersonal skills and helping skills. 6) Use effective communication skills in professional and personal action areas 7) Respects individual differences in interpersonal relationships.

Definition and classification of inter-personal relations; theoretical approaches to interpersonal relations (psychoanalytic, attachment, contemporary theories); theoretical approaches to interpersonal relationships (social, psychological, cognitive theories); interpersonal relationships as developmental processes (infancy and childhood, adolescence and adulthood); factors affecting people relations; gender, gender roles and interpersonal relationships; self-adaptation and self-disclosure in interpersonal relationships; communication and communication errors; effective communication skills; interpersonal problems, conflict and conflict resolution approaches; human relations in terms of intercultural differentiation.
