At the end of this course, the students; 1) Describe concepts related to addiction 2) Know the types of dependence 3) Know theoretical explanations related to addiction 4) Explain developmental processes related to addiction 5) Explain social-emotional learning processes related to addiction 6) Know the threats to the risk factors according to the types of addiction, take responsibility within their duty boundaries 7) Know the principles for preparing individual and group intervention programs for addiction in educational settings 8) Know national policies and strategies for the prevention and intervention of addiction. 9) Work in cooperation with relevant institutions and people on the prevention and intervention of addiction.

COURSE DEFINITION
Basic concepts and definitions, addiction types (substance addiction, technological addiction, etc.) Causes of addiction, familial, friend related and public risk elements preparing the person for substance addiction process, communication skills of addicted child, adolescents and adults, the role of social service in addiction, models of addiction, efforts for preventing addiction; results of addiction, national policies and strategy methods fighting with addiction; re-accommodation process.
