At the end of this course, the students; 1) Have the knowledge of main concepts of education. 2) Understand the foundations of education as weel as its link with the other disciplines. 3) Analyse the role of the teacher in the education system. 4) Understand the teacher training implementations and teacher qualifications. 5) Define the functions of education.. 6) Analze the methods in educational sciences.

Basic concepts related to education and instruction; the aims and functions of education; the relation of education to other fields and sciences; legal, social, cultural, historical, political, economic, philosophical and psychological basis of education; methods in educational sciences; school and classroom as educational and learning environment; current developments in teaching profession and teacher education; educational orientations in the twenty-first century.
