At the end of this course, the students; 1) recognize characteristic features of divan literature. 2) interpret texts comprise of poem and proses around divan literature tradition 3) employ prosody and literary arts on sample texts. 4) recognize characteristic features of 16., 17. ve 18. century divan literature. 5) write important names of 16., 17. ve 18. century divan literature.

COURSE DEFINITION
The Classical Turkish literary periods progressing from 16th to 19th century and its general features are
focused. The examples selected from the works of Zati, Yahya Bey, Baki, Fuzuli, Şeyhülislam Yahya, Nef'i, Nabi,
Nedim, Şeyh Galip, Vasıf, İzzet Molla, Yenişehirli Avni are investigated.
