LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) accommodate voice tool for method while saying a word, repairing general utterance disorders.
2) use language units (voice, phonogram, word, word group, sentence) learning features of accent, tone, strain and pronunciation and performing applications through texts about those issues.
3) employ applications of establishing various types of texts and giving speeches through oral presentations.
4) have practices and applications of the elements completing the speech in order to gain ability of rhetoric.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe basic aims, concepts and methods of effective speaking, the physical and cognitive items of speaking, dialog, the secondary techniques which help the effective speaking, speech preparing for celebrations and important days, the arrangement of speech content, the body language, the factors effecting the speech, the techniques of reading poems, debates, panel discussion, forum, symposium, conference, discussions on TV programs, diction and its importance, The important points of Turkish pronunciation, correct spelling, correct prosody, and text based practices.

1st Week Syllabus overview,Diction, voice, speaking etc. introductory discussion of terms
2nd Week Basic terms about voice: voice, articulaticon, tone, timbre, stress, intonation, mental, psychological dimension
3rd Week skipping, laxity, hissing, changing, Applications in order to ıgılama, ıslıklama, değiştirme, Application
4th Week Usage of gesture, mimic and body language, Application: word and voice exercises.
5th Week Features of oral narration and spoken language , Application: word and voice exercises
6th Week Designing discourse, Types of oral narration
7th Week Preparing speeches for important days (national days, memorials, etc.), nterview and presentation of oral reports
8th Week Midterm exam: Application: Reading chosen poems,Application: Reading chosen harangues or texts
9th Week Interview and presentation of oral reports
10th Week interview and presentation of oral reports
11th Week interview and presentation of oral reports.
12th Week Presentations prepared for important days/ practice on making speech without ion, preperation (national days, memorials
