COURSE DEFINITION
Tanzimat Literature and Westernization in Turkish literature. The place of Tanzimat Literature in Turkish
literature and its general features. The principal poets and authors of Tanzimat Literature, their works;
comparative analyses on texts. Turkish language, culture and literature in Tanzimat period (changing and
development). Servet-i Fünun Literature, Fecr-i ati Literature and National Literature period, The place of
Servet-i Fünun Literature, Fecr-i ati Literature and National Literature period in Turkish literature and their
general features. The principal poets and authors of Servet-i Fünun Literature, Fecr-i ati Literature and National
Literature period, their works; comparative analyses on texts.
