At the end of this course, the students; 1) recall and repeat Turkish epics. 2) classify features of Turkish sufistic literature. 3) compare notions of type and form in Turkish folk literature. 4) appraise important names in Turkish folk poetry. 5) have information and employ about Turkish folk poetry features and important names.

COURSE DEFINITION
The place of Turkish Folk Literature in Turkish literature, scope of Turkish Folk Literature. Turkish folk poem, its
historical development; varieties and forms of Turkish folk literature; narration based varieties in Turkish folk
literature (epope, tale, story, legend etc.) and the other folk literature works (riddle, toung twister, lullaby
etc.). Practices on texts.
