1) compare differences and relationship between suffix, root and stem.
2) define suffixes in Turkish according semantic and function.
3) solve words thereby seperate derivational affix and inflexional suffix.
4) appraise semantic reliationship by means of suffixes between words

COURSE DEFINITIONThe morphological features of Turkish, roots and suffixes, the features of nominal and verbal roots, derivational and inflectional suffixes, word derivation, practices on definig the Turkish suffixes in texts. Voices in Turkish verbs, practices on voice suffixes, Mood-tense-person categories.
COURSE CONTENTS
WEEKTOPICS
1st Week Basic concepts and terminology on morphology.
2nd Week Bound and free morphemes of Turkish, derivation and inflection.
3rd Week Deriving nouns from nouns and functions of denominal suffixes.
4th Week Deriving nouns from verbs and functions of denominal suffixes.
5th Week Deriving verb from verb, voice suffixes in Turkish and their functions.
6th Week Deriving verb from noun and functions of deverbal suffixes.
7th Week Practices on the deriving suffixes.
8th Week Midterm exam
9th Week Inflectional suffixes and their functions.
10th Week Declension and copula.
11th Week Conjugation; modality-tense-aspect and agreement; indicative.
12th Week Imperative, desiderative, optative and necessitative in Turkish.
13th Week Personal endings, their varieties and functions.
14th Week Participle and gerund suffixes, practices on these.
