LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT	At the end of this course, the students; 1) compare the past and current situation of Turkish as mother tongue, foreign language and second language. 2) asess approach, method and techniques used in Turkish education theoretically and applied. 3) offer solutions for current problems of Turkish education.

COURSE DEFINITION	The historical improvement of teaching Turkish, the principles of teaching Turkish, legal foundations, the methods of deduction, induction, synthesis, analyses, individual working, group working, discussion etc. being used in teaching Turkish are given in the system of student-centered language teaching.
COURSE CONTENTS	WEEK TOPICS 1st Week Langauge, language acquisition; mother tongue, second and foreign language 2nd Week Teaching Turkish as mother tongue 3rd Week Teaching Turkish as mother tongue 4th Week Turkish lesson for language teacher 5th Week Teaching Turkish as a second language 6th Week Problems and solutions in teaching Turkish as a second language 7th Week Teaching Turkish as a foreign language 8th Week MIDTERM 9th Week Methods and techniques in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. 10th Week Teaching Turkish to communities using Turkish grammar 11th Week Teaching Turkish to communities using Turkish grammar 12th Week Problems in teaching Turkish to communities using Turkish grammar 13th Week Important points in assessment and evaluation of Turkish teaching 14th Week Overall assesment
