LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Learns the basic concepts, subjects and methods of the field of Educational Anthropology.
2) By examining educational research on different cultures, comprehends the similarities and differences in basic areas such as school, classroom, curriculum and teacher training.
3) Evaluates education, training and learning processes in a cultural context through examples from our national education, as well as from global examples.

COURSE DEFINITIONSubject, basic concepts, history and method of anthropology; basic approaches in social-cultural anthropology; education from an anthropological perspective and the basic concepts of educational anthropology; cultural foundations and functions of education; intercultural differentiation, education and learning; school as a living space, school cultures and ethnographies; media, mass media, popular culture and education; globalization, cultural interaction, cultural literacy and education; Education in oral and written literary works in the history of Turkish culture and civilization; The roles of parents and children in the Turkish family structure.

2nd Week Definition of Anthropology, its historical development, relationship of Anthropology with other sciences, basic concepts and method
3rd Week Socio-cultural anthropology and basic approaches
4th Week Basic concepts and method of Educational Anthropology
5th Week The concept of culture and culture classifications, acculturation, cultural change
6th Week Cultural foundations and functions of education
7th Week Intercultural differentiation and education
8th Week Midterm
9th Week School cultures and ethnographies and school climate
10th Week Popular culture, media and education
11th Week Cultural interaction, globalization and education
12th Week Educational elements, family structure and acculturation examples in works in Turkish Culture
13th Week Turkish family structure and roles
