At the end of this course, the students; 1) Explains the aims and functions of art education and visual arts teaching. 2) Discusses the place and importance of visual arts teaching in art education. 3) Explains what the learning areas of art education course are. 4) Organizes activities related to the learning areas of art education course. 5) Examines the child's graphical developmental stages. 6) Analyzes the works of artists. 7) Explains the importance of children's drawings in children's education.

COURSE DEFINITION
Definition and function of art; history of art education; the place and importance of art education in contemporary education; the importance of art education in early childhood; children's art and its characteristics according to developmental periods; art education in the museum; preparation and implementation of programs that support children's creative expression skills and aesthetic awareness; the relationship between child and teacher in an art classroom; drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, weaving, ceramics, installation and games, video art, photography, technology and computers in the art room, environmental art; art materials; designing and evaluating learning environments in art education; connections between art and other subjects; creativity in art and its development.
