At the end of this course, the students; 1) Explains basic concepts about health and first aid. 2) Explains the development of the baby and the factors affecting it in the prenatal and postnatal period. 3) Recognizes infectious diseases seen in children aged 0-6 and applies prevention methods. 4) Knows their responsibilities in children's illnesses. 5) Analyzes and evaluates accidents encountered during childhood and the precautions to be taken.

COURSE DEFINITION
Students taking this course; Definition of child health, the state of child health in our country and in the world, child development in the womb, the effects of diseases and accidents that may occur during pregnancy on the child's development, physical development (teeth, height, weight) and follow-up of 0-8 year old children, pediatric diseases seen in 0-8 year old children. (teaching diarrhea and respiratory infections, immunization and rash diseases (parasitic infections, etc.), vaccinations, health problems according to women's life periods, family planning, fractures-dislocations, burns, injuries, insect bites, poisoning, swallowing foreign objects, etc.). They are expected to learn the first aid they need to give.
