LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Are able to visualize their research and ideas in the architectural design process by using the right methods.
2) Use Adobe supported Photoshop programs to design, draft and prepare presentations.
3) Observe architectural program concepts and relationships and express them with digital presentation techniques.
4) Create architectural diagrams, illustrations and collages using three-dimensional modeling programs.
5) Detail three-dimensional architectural visuals using Adobe supported Photoshop programs.
6) Apply the knowledge gained in the course to the projects they work on in the design studio.

RECOMMENDED OPTIONAL PROGRAMME COMPONENT-
COURSE DEFINITIONThe course aims to teach different architectural presentation techniques. This sequence is limited to introducing the basic logic of architectural presentation techniques by concentrating on the two and three dimensional post processing exercises, and experiencing the supportive and developing effects of Adobe Photoshop and basic presentation techniques in architectural design practice.
COURSE CONTENTS
WEEKTOPICS
1st Week Introduction to digital presentation techniques - Presentation of computer programs mostly used in architecture and their working philosophies, tips to improve architectural visualizations, tips for how to improve their research.
2nd Week Adobe Photoshop: Presentation and application of how to improve Photoshop workflow, Brushes, Architecture library, Textures and color palette workflow - Exercise 1: Brush, Texture and Color Palette study in Photoshop.
3rd Week Adobe Photoshop, Google Earth: Presentation and application of how to create Site Analysis and Master Plan illustrations using Google Earth and Photoshop - Exercise 2: Exploring Term Design Project site potentials.
4th Week Adobe Photoshop and 3D Software: Presentation and application of architectural program concepts and relations - Drawing Exercise 3: Exploring Term Design Project program and first design strategy and decisions.
5th Week Adobe Photoshop and 3D Software: Presentation and application of Architectural diagrams in Photoshop and any chosen 3d software - Exercise 4: Study on Term Design Project first design strategy and decisions.
6th Week Mid-term Exam 1
7th Week Adobe Photoshop: Presentation and application of rendering architectural plans, sections and elevations in Adobe Photoshop - Exercise 5: Rendering a plan, section and elevation.
8th Week Adobe Photoshop and 3D Software: Presentation and application of Axonometric concepts, exploded axonometric, axonometric sections and axonometric illustrations - Exercise 6: Creating an axonometric illustration.
9th Week Adobe Photoshop and 3D Software: Presentation and application of collage - Drawing Exercise 7: Collage.
10th Week Mid-term Exam 2
11th Week Adobe Photoshop and 3D software: Presentation and application of architectural 3D rendering and postproduction - Exercise 7: Post Production of basic 3D render in Adobe Photoshop.
12th Week Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign: Presentation and application of composition in Architectural Boards - Exercise 8: Design an Architectural Board.
13th Week Working for the Final Term Design Project- getting ready for final submission.
14th Week Working for the Final Term Design Project- getting ready for final submission.
