At the end of this course, the students; 1) will improve their skills in observing 3D objects and architectural spaces 2) will be able to express their observations and/or designs of 3D objects and/or architectural spaces with one-point and two-point freehand perspective drawings 3) will be able to represent light and shadow relation on freehand sketches 4) will be able to represent the properties of surfaces with black and white and coloured rendering techniques 5) will have experience on use of various sketching materials

COURSE DEFINITION
This course is designed for the students to develop and improve their skills in presenting three dimensional objects and architectural spaces with various drawing materials and architectural sketching and rendering techniques. The importance of architectural pattern and architectural sketching will be emphasized in the course. Within this context, various freehand sketches and drawings will be produced in lectures, studio works and homework throughout the semester, focusing on paper composition, types of lines, and various rendering techniques, light and color representation techniques and freehand perspective drawing techniques by using various freehand sketching materials such as lead pencils, colored pencils, dry pastels and markers.
