LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT
At the end of this course, the students; 1) Get acquainted with the basic concepts and terminology of architecture. 2) Understand the basic principles and components of architecture. 3) Gain experience of reading, researching and analyzing architectural space. 4) Gain the ability to establish the relationship between Social, cultural, economic, environmental, technological etc. variables and architecture. 5) Gain the habit of following the architectural agenda.

COURSE DEFINITION The course focuses on the basic concepts, components and terminology of architecture. Conceptual, perceptual and objective elements that build up the spatial organization are conveyed. Initial practices are carried on perceiving and analyzing the components of architectural space. The basic concept sets and approaches of architecture are conveyed in an interactive learning environment supported by the use of alternative media.
