COURSE DEFINITIONThis course mainly deals with background, environment, modes and operations of cross-border or world-wide economic activities of business firms that involve two or more countries. For this purpose, having clarified the conceptual background for and political as well as legal environment facing international business, the reasons for why and how companies are engaged in international business will be discussed in conjunction with the theories and institution of international trade and investment. The course will also specifically focus on motivations of handling international business through direct investment by taking into account the procedures for country evaluation and selection.
