LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) Learn the evolutionary biology in all modern aspects that has become the most basic science of biology. 2) Understand the relationships between the fields of evolutionary biology and natural sciences. 3) Understand the relationships between genotype and phenotype in light of natural selection, mutation, genetic drift and migration. 4) Learn about the application areas of evolutionary biology from medicine to agriculture. 5) Understands the development process of molecular evolution at genome and species level.

COURSE DEFINITION | The aim of this course is to enable students to gain an understanding of evolutionary thinking and to learn the micro and macro processes that provide the process of evolution to increase their theoretical knowledge, and to comprehend the connection of evolutionary biology applications to molecular genetics, biotechnology, health and many other natural sciences. |
