At the end of this course, the students; 1) Classify cells, tissues and organs of the immune system 2) Understand the differences between natural and acquired immunity. 3) Define the basic features of antigen presentation and the structure and functions of antigen presenting molecules. 4) Understand the differences between acute and chronic inflammation. 5) Have basic knowledge about immunological tests and methods.

COURSE DEFINITION
The aim of this course is to learn the tissues and organs of the immune system, the characteristics of innate and adaptive immunity, the structure and functions of antigens and antibodies, MHC molecules and antigen presentation, complement system and general information about cytokines. Inflammation, infection, tumor and transplantation immunology will also be covered in this course. Information about the tests and methods studied in this field will also be given.
