At the end of this course, the students; 1) Explain and evaluate the structural and molecular properties of living things. 2) Conceive and interpret the basic information related to cell theory and genetic code. 3) Evaluate general features of all organisms and classify them. Evaluate and interpret basically mechanisms related to the photosynthesis and fermentation which maintain biological diversity. 4) Get basic knowledge about Evolution and evolutionary processes and interpret them. 5) Analyze, evaluate and report various experimental studies in the field of biology. 6) Answer the questions about basic the working principles of the microscope.

This course is designed to provide Molecular Biology and Genetics students with a basic knowledge of life sciences, chemistry of life, cell theory, genetic code, evolution, and the diversity of life; and with the ability to conduct experiments and reporting in a safe and in accordance with the rules in the laboratory.
