COURSE DEFINITION
The aim of the course is to teach student the jazz harmony in both theoritical and practical ways.

Basic harmonic theory, scale and mode, major - minor and modal scales.
2nd Week
Chord formations and their symbols.
3rd Week
I, V and II. Degree chords in major scale, II 7 - V 7 - I 7 progressions, analysis.
4th Week
Studies on various tones of II 7 - V 7 - I 7
5th Week
Harmonization of chord tones, cromatic and diatonic tones, and their applications.
6th Week
Harmonization of delaying tones, applications and analysis.
7th Week
Block chords' harmonization, applications and analysis.
8th Week
Midterm Exam
9th Week
Swing concept, rythmical structure in chord progressions, harmonization with block chords, harmonization of anticipated, double cromatic and double delayed tones, applications and analysis.
10th Week
Harmoniaztion of embroider and passage tones, and their applications.
11th Week
Tension tones, resolute - irresolute tension tones and their harmonization.
