LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT	At the end of this course, the students; 1) will gain the ability to hear and notate two-voice pieces, sight read in seven different clefs in keys with up to seven sharps and seven flats and read pieces written in odd meters, modes, and makams.

COURSE DEFINITION	Providing the student with tools to correctly and effectively read music in their own field as well as the ability to notate what they hear.
COURSE CONTENTS	WEEK TOPICS 1st Week Dictation and reading exercises on the fourth line C clef. 2nd Week Reading on the pentatonic scale. 3rd Week Scale and expanded cadance exercises in major and minor keys with six flats and six sharps. 4th Week Dictation and reading exercises in major and minor keys with six flats and six sharps. 5th Week Reading pieces in five interchanging clefs. 6th Week Dictation and reading exercises in the Nihavent and Saba makams. 7th Week Dictation exercises in five clefs. 8th Week MID-TERM 9th Week Reading exercises in Çargah, Acemaşiran,Rast,Mahur,Hüseyni, Karcığar,Hicaz,Nikriz, Segah,Hüzzam,Nihavent and Saba makams. 10th Week Scale and expanded cadance exercises in major and minor keys with seven flats and seven sharps. 11th Week Dictation and reading exercises in major and minor keys with seven flats and seven sharps. 12th Week Dictation and reading exercises on the second 13th Week Dictation and reading exercises on the thid line F clef. 14th Week Reading exercises in all seven clefs.
