COURSE DEFINITION
To further enchance vocal ability in popular and Jazz music styles. Preparing the vocalist for the stage in Jazz, Blues and Latin styles by providing compatibility between voice and body.
COURSE CONTENTS
WEEK
TOPICS
1st Week
The effect of posture on breathing: neutral posture, deep breathing, quiet breathing techniques.
2nd Week
Repertoire determination, tone selection, transposition. To be able to remember, refresh and transfer the breathing techniques learned in the last term to the new term.
3rd Week
Vibrato: types of vibrato and its correct use.
4th Week
Processing the piece in Blues form selected for the repertoire, techniques appropriate to the period.
5th Week
Further interpretation studies for the song in Blues form selected for the repertoire, correcting articulation errors.
6th Week
Ways to improve tonal quality, resonators and their use.
7th Week
Handling the ballad piece selected for the repertoire, using the breath while singing the ballad, intonation and interpretation.
8th Week
Midterm
9th Week
Processing the selected Latin part for the repertoire. The structure of the melody in popular Latin rhythms, Bossa Nova and Samba pieces.
10th Week
Sound health:
11th Week
Processing the selected jazz standard for the repertoire, determining the period and interpretation,
12th Week
Do not dwell on memorizing all the lyrics selected for the repertoire. Studies that will strengthen the bridge between interpretation and presentation.
13th Week
Sequence and serial performance of all songs selected for the repertoire.
14th Week
Term summary, presentation of student projects
