COURSE DEFINITIONThis course aims to introduce students to the polyphonic instrument, the piano and to teach them how to play pieces based on relevant curriculum and their individual performance levels.
COURSE CONTENTS
WEEKTOPICS
1st Week Selection of pieces to be played during the semester. Analysis of first piece of music.
2nd Week Reading the treble and bass clefs, figuring out finger numbering and sight reading the first piece.
3rd Week Reinforcement of hand positions, finger numbering and technical information related to the first assigned piece.
4th Week Technical and musical analysis of assigned piece and related exercises.
5th Week Technical and musical analysis of assigned piece, related exercises and introduction to scale exercises .
6th Week Technical and musical analysis of assigned piece, related exercises and scale exercises.
7th Week Introduction to second piece, reading the treble and bass clefs, figuring out finger numbering and sight reading the piece.
8th Week MID-TERM
9th Week Technical and musical analysis of assigned piece and related exercises.
10th Week Technical and musical analysis of assigned piece and related exercises.
11th Week Technical and musical analysis of assigned piece and related exercises.
12th Week Detailed technical and musical studies of both assigned pieces.
13th Week Detailed technical and musical studies of both assigned pieces.
14th Week Detailed technical and musical studies of both assigned pieces along with scale exercises.
