COURSE DEFINITIONwill be able to realize a given bass or melody, and analyze works selected from the literature.
COURSE CONTENTS
WEEKTOPICS
1st Week Brief introduction of the course, the resources to be used and the way of studying. Introduction to the concept of modulation.
2nd Week Explaining modulations using diatonic common chords.
3rd Week Explaining the concept of alteration.
4th Week Explain the difference between modulation and using a tone temporarily.
5th Week Explaining other modulation techniques (using altare chords as common chords, sequence modulation, modulation with common voice, monophonic modulation, direct modulation). Enharmonic Modulation. Harmonization, melody and bass harmonization, harmonic listening exercises, practical accompaniment of melodies.
6th Week Enharmonic Modulation. Harmonization, melody and bass harmonization, harmonic listening exercises, practical accompaniment of melodies.
7th Week MIDTERM
8th Week Chromatic Modulation. Harmonization, melody and bass harmonization, harmonic listening exercises, practical accompaniment of melodies.
9th Week Non-functional uses of the dominant function. Practice of the subject on a given coded bass, plain bass or soprano. Analysis of selected samples from the literature.
10th Week Use of 9th, 11th and 13th chords. Making applications under different textural understandings. Analysis of selected samples from the literature.
11th Week Color changes created by different chord progressions. The use of tonal harmony in the late romantic period. Practice of the subject on a given coded bass, plain bass or soprano. Analysis of selected samples from the literature.
12th Week Classical Period analysis studies (J.Haydn, W.A.Mozart ).
13th Week Continuation of classical period analysis studies.
14th Week Romantic Period analysis studies.
