LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Understand and use the language of mathematics

2) Analyze and solve the problems encountered by mathematical thinking and derive conclusions and apply them
3) Know the basic mathematical concepts such as limit, derivative and integral function and be capable to apply them in their field of study.

COURSE DEFINITIONSets of numbers, absolute value and inequalities; the concepts of function, limit and continuity; differentiation, increasing and decreasing functions, first and second derivative tests, extreme value problems, L'Hospital's Rule, graphs of functions, inverse function, logarithmic and exponential functions will be covered.

2nd Week Function, domain and graphs, odd function, even function, composite function, piecewise-defined function
3rd Week Trigonometric functions, periodic functions
4th Week Definition of limit, right and left limits, limits of infinity, infinite limit
5th Week Continuity, right and left continuity
6th Week Definition of derivative, geometric interpretation of derivative
7th Week Differentiation rules
8th Week Midterm Exam
9th Week Chain rule, increasing and decreasing functions, higher-order derivatives
10th Week Inverse function, exponential and logaritmic functions
11th Week Extreme values, concavity, max-min problems
12th Week Sketching the graph of a function
13th Week Indeterminate forms, L'Hospital Rule
14th Week Indeterminate forms, L'Hospital Rule
