LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Recognize indoor sound sources,
2) Will have information about the formation, propagation, reflection and absorption of sound in the space,
3) They will learn how to control the movement of sound with the surfaces in the space,
4) They will recognize the materials they will use in order to control the movement of the sound.
MODE OF DELIVERYFace to face
PRE-REQUISITES OF THE COURSENo
RECOMMENDED OPTIONAL PROGRAMME COMPONENTNone.
COURSE DEFINITIONSound is an important physical component in designing the indoor atmosphere. Controlled propagation of sound is very important for designing ergonomic and functional spaces. The main objective of the course is to determine the right materials in spaces by understanding the components of sound, to choose design elements that provide acoustic comfort, to provide the necessary interior equipment to design the geometry to provide an efficient acoustic functioning, and to work in this direction.
