LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) To comprehend the use of materials in interior design as a design
element together with other elements,
2) To know the materials used in interior design, to learn their
properties by grouping and application methods in the building,
3) To learn to select and combine materials in the human-space
relationship in the field of interior architecture, adopting and
prioritizing the physical, psychological and aesthetic needs of the
user,
4) To ensure that the furniture, equipment and all spatial elements in
the interior are thought and designed in integrity with the selected
material,

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course discusses the properties of finishing materials in interior space from a theoretical, practical, aesthetic and technical point of view. In addition to introducing the basic materials and products used in the interior, the students are shown how to create mood and material boards in interior design projects.
