LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Understand the concepts of design and creativity.
2) Learn color selection in design, language of colors and color applications.
3) Comprehend the historical processes and developments of the works of designers and artists in the world and in Turkey.
4) one of the basic principles of design; Learns composition, line, perspective, contouring, light shadow, form, balance, deconstruction, rhythm and use of color.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe concept of creativity is considered as an effective method in the design process. A complementary unity is provided between the analytical and the parts related to the whole. In order to establish new orders, it is important to be in structures for concepts and images. Evaluations, researches and experiences are transferred.
COURSE CONTENTS
WEEKTOPICS
1st Week General information about the design and creativity course. Design. Making a general picture of the design processes. Discussing the importance of design in the fashion industry. Determination of tools and equipment.
2nd Week Making information, documents and researches to help before starting to design. Fashion predictions and examination of identity details. Topic selection, research processes, visual data collection, examination and research of good design examples. One of the basic principles of design; A general view of composition, line, perspective, contouring, light and shadow, form, balance, deconstruction, rhythm and use of color.
3rd Week Use of the line. Examining the use of lines in historical processes. Expression methods with line, power and importance of line. Creating perspective with line. Line work and hand opening practice. Practical practice of creating pictorial expressions using only line.
4th Week Sketch. A look at the use of sketches from historical periods. Understanding the importance of sketch drawings in design processes. Examine their contribution to the correct start and planned progress of the first steps of sketching design. Preparing a sketchbook.
5th Week Composition. Examining the basic rules used in creating compositions. Psychological effects of composition on the audience. Examining the use of compositions by various designers and examining and applying collage or assemblage works based on this.
6th Week Light and shadow. The use and construction techniques of light and shadow. Examining the use of light in historical processes. Understanding and researching the perception of depth and dimension that light and shadow add to the design. Lighting and shading in black and white drawings and color drawings. Do not practice shading.
7th Week Form. Use of form with light and shadow applications. The use of form in designs and the creation of formal balances. Creativity. Developing creativity.
8th Week Balance in design. Establishment and disruption of balance in designs. Seeing the function of the use of balance in designs and its use in studies. Examining and applying different balance elements such as light, color and line separately. Style creation studies and examination of the details of a balanced style.
9th Week Defining and using rhythm and texture in design. To develop methods of researching and learning different rhythm studies and texture usages and using them in designs. To investigate the effects of repetitions on designs.
10th Week What are the technical differences between different paint types such as watercolor, acrylic paint? Paint usage techniques application. Form creation techniques with colors. Brush and pen selections.
11th Week Color selection in design, the language of colors and color applications. Psychological effects of color on humans. Definition and application of contrast, harmony and transition in color. Percentages and distributions in color use.
12th Week rakursi The importance of rakursi in drawing and its application techniques. Research and examination of designers who use Rakursi frequently.
13th Week Deconstruction. Examination and investigation of deconstruction forms in designs. Examination of the effects of deconstruction and its strengthening of our expression and its application in designs.
14th Week An overview of the historical processes and developments of the works of designers and artists in the world and in Turkey, historical developments in design. Final revision of all the drawing studies done within the course and final preparations for the exam.
