LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Gain the ability to explain professional basic concepts and define the concepts of design and accessory design.
2) Gain the ability to explain the similarities and differences of the concepts they have learned with examples, and to discuss the relationships between the elements of the product design process (designer - product, user - consumer).
3) Gain the ability to explain form, material, ergonomics, production management, cost, brand marketing relations and describe the stages of the design process in product design.
4) Gain the ability to use the information in the history of accessory design at a basic level and to explain the main periods in this history with examples.
5) Get to know the accessory designers in Turkey and the World and gain the ability to show examples of the products they design.

COURSE DEFINITIONDesigning shoes, bags, hats, belts, jewelry and other accessories that complement the garment and producing the selected designs.
COURSE CONTENTS
WEEKTOPICS
1st Week Accessories, definition, scope, importance and types according to usage area.
2nd Week Major clothing accessory; bags, belts, hats, jewelry, shawls/scarves, scarves etc. General information about.
3rd Week Accessory selection; its importance as a clothing accessory, its types, functions and nomenclature.
4th Week Reminder of basic information about the design process to follow. Criteria to be considered in accessory design.
5th Week Researching ideas for the chosen accessory, developing research themes and compiling the research.
6th Week Idea drawings/sketches. Developing drawings. Selection of powerful designs. Working on the details. Finalize the design. Making material researches suitable for design.
7th Week Preparation of molds in accordance with the design. Determination of materials. Trial studies on the techniques to be used.
8th Week MIDTERM
9th Week Implementation of the prototype suitable for the design.
10th Week Implementation of the prototype suitable for the design.
11th Week Implementation of the prototype suitable for the design.
12th Week Implementation of the prototype suitable for the design.
13th Week Implementation of the prototype suitable for the design.
14th Week Making it ready for presentation (All outputs related to process and result). General evaluation.
