At the end of this course, the students; 1) master the textile materials and auxiliary materials used in the apparel and ready-to-wear production processes. 2) recognize fabrics, learn the properties of fabrics. 3) can determine the suitability of auxiliary materials and place of use.

COURSE DEFINITION
Examination of fabric production technologies, usage areas, physical tests applied to fabrics, types of fabrics and clothing design relationship. Properties and usage areas of textile products and other materials used in clothing design. Rules to be considered in the selection of materials suitable for design and ergonomics.

Fabrics. General properties of woolen fabrics, mainly known and used woolen fabrics.

General properties of cotton fabrics, mainly known and used cotton and fabrics.
4th Week
General properties of Silk Fabrics, mainly known and used silk fabrics
5th Week
Synthetic fabrics, general properties, mainly known and used synthetic fabrics

Leathers, Furs general characteristics and main known

Sewing thread types and thread counts.
8th Week

The use and purpose of the primer and the expected properties. The place of use, purpose and types of interlining.
