1) Define the history and basic assumptions of Gestalt therapies.
2) Identify the basic techniques used in Gestalt therapies.
3) Distinguish the different aspects of Gestalt therapies from other psychotherapy approaches.
4) Interpret how Gestalt therapies are utilized in different problems.
5) Be informed about the psychotherapy process in general.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe main aim of the course is to introduce basic concepts and techniques of Gestalt therapies. Students who take this course learn the underlying assumptions of Gestalt therapy by analysis of cases that utilize Gestalt therapy. The topics that will be covered through the course as follows: Development of Gestalt therapies, Self, Techniques of awareness, Awareness of the body, techniques of Gestalt therapy, Ego boundaries, Dream Works, Orientation of ?here and now?, case analyses.
