LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Become acquainted with the historical roots, the theoretical background of neuropsychology.
2) Define the cortical regions and connections and consequences of lesions.
3) Can reason on cerebral assymetry and the relationship between different brain regions and cognitive functions.
4) Can analyze the relationship between psychopathology and neuropsychology.
5) Explain a psychological subject in terms of neuropsychology.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe goal of this course is to make students familiar with the basics of neuropsychology. Students will be introduced to brain and its functions, the properties of nervous system, structure and function of neurons. Students will also be informed about how to measure neuropsychological attributes. The structures in the nervous system and its correlates with behavior will be explored. Moreover, artificial models of neural networks will also be introduced to study the differences and similarities between biological and computational systems.
