1) Explain fundamental theories of media psychology.
2) Develop a critical point of view regarding how certain social sub groups are represented in media.
3) Define basic research methods utilized in media psychology.
4) Define how people perceive, interpret, use, and respond.
5) Develop critical awareness of the impact of media on individuals and society.

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course is designed to examine the role of psychologists play in the media and explore the impact of media and technology on human behavior. Apply psychological theories and principles and increase students? understanding of how marketing and communications impact modern media in a global society. The role of psychology in such fields as media consulting, advertising, and media research are discussed.
