At the end of this course, the students; 1) Will be able to read academic texts, 2) Will be able to analyze and synthesize academic text, 3) Will be able to search databases and library catalogues, 4) Will be able to use knowledge in academic text to increase their academic efficiency. 5) Will be able to write essays and laboratory reports according to the APA style.

COURSE DEFINITION
The aim of this course is to improve students? reading and writing skills for academic reading materials, specifically, on psychological texts. During this course, students are expected to learn how to find main ideas, to analyze and synthesize them from academic texts. In order to improve reading, the course also aims to connect searching, note taking, and reading skills. Therefore, this course aims to inform students on different reading types and purposes, reading articles and chapters, being critical and reflective on academic texts as well as note taking and searching skills. Within the scope of the course, another objective is to help students improve their skills in academic writing not only by lectures and discussions but also with in class and between class writing activities An additional aim is to improve students? knowledge and skills for preparing psychological texts such as brochures, blog and magazine articles.
