LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Will be able to learn the fundamental concepts and theories of social psychology which attempts to understand and explain how individuals are influenced by the actual, imagined, or implied presence of others.
2) Will be able to learn the basic approaches and researches in social psychology.
3) Will be able to have knowledge about the topics of social thinking and social influence which constitute the general frame of the course.
4) Be able to learn about the way how they can develop a research question of social psychology and determine the proper research method for the question.

COURSE DEFINITIONSocial psychology is defined as the scientific discipline that attempts to understand and explain how individuals are influenced by the actual, imagined, or implied presence of others. Students are informed of the basic approaches and researches in social psychology. Social thinking and social influence constitute the general frame of the course. The course contains the chapters as self, social beliefs and judgment, attitudes, culture and gender, conformity and obedience, persuasion, and group influence.
